While some may think that not much can grow in the desert, the fact is, God is causing the arid deserts of Israel to bloom both in the natural and by His spirit. Many of our kids have participated in the various stages of our new gardening project. Some built the planter boxes out of recycled packing pallets, others came to fill them with soil, and still others have come to plant and to sow seeds. We all await the changes of the seasons to see what might pop up out of the earth.
Most of our kids live in cramped high rise apartments in the middle of the city, so working outdoors with the earth is a quite a novelty for them. Each time we gather with these young people, the time of working together builds a sense of vision and purpose in them as they see the fruit of their labors taking on a practical form. Yeshua spoke many parables about seed and fields and sowing and reaping, Every gathering creates opportunity to share living parables. With the Father’s help, we are preparing fertile soil and planting seeds in the hearts of these young people that will bear an abundant crop, thirty, sixty, and a hundred fold!
